Blastream x Paris Peace Forum

The Paris Peace Forum was created in 2018 in honor of the centenary of the end of World War I and is held annually in Paris.

A key event on the international scene, the peace forum brings together heads of state, NGOs, International Banks, private and public companies from around 100 countries to create collective thinking and find solutions to problems related to the environment, security, inclusive economy, culture and education.
Projects are designed and presented by participants from all over the world in round table sessions. 100 projects are selected and this year 46 of them were related to the Covid-19 crisis.

For this third edition, the health context did not allow all political members and NGO representatives to travel to France, only a few were able to attend the event alongside Emmanuel Macron: the President of Senegal Macky Sall, the President of the European Council Charles Michel and the IMF Managing Director Kristalina Gueorguieva. It therefore had to be entirely digitalized.

Since the first edition, the custom was to set up round tables for project presentations, so the organizers wanted to keep the usual operation but in a digitalized version thanks to the creation of Blastream virtual lounges.
To create and broadcast this large-scale digital event, the Blastream solution was chosen as the technological foundation by Mediactive, the event organizer. This choice was justified by the platform’s ability to host large events (200 rooms, each with 10 people), by the possibility of recording the live event and broadcasting it simultaneously on any platform. The solution also has a “White Label” option for companies that want to integrate and customize the Blastream livestreaming device through our API.

The 2020 Peace Forum brought together 12,000 participants and no less than 170 projects were presented via videoconference. A complex digital event that went off without a hitch and that allowed for a fluidity in the presentations, despite the thousands of kilometers separating the different actors of the seminar.
